Our day in snapshots

This morning a package arrived for Lily from Aunt Caroline... in it were beeswax crayons and a Melissa & Doug art pad with animals to color! Lily loved looking at it with me after her nap (we snuggled up in my bed for a little while), and we can't wait to color in it! Caroline told me she picked the crayons after reading a review on a blog about how they were the perfect shape for small hands (hard to break, easy to hold), and well...we all know how much Lily loves animals!

The weather was perfect and gorgeous, so we headed out for a loooooong walk. Lily is wearing a skirt that her Aunt Cathy bought for her last year (it has little built in shorts inside and SEQUINS!) and one of her new shirts from Old Navy. Size? 2T of course. Note how she has no socks on with her shoes. Sometimes she just doesn't want socks.

I decided we'd go out for dinner tonight so we headed to a little neighborhood eatery down the street. It's Cuban-Mexican fusion with traditional Cuban dishes but also some Mexican stuff thrown in. As you can see, Lily loves salsa. She would dip the chip....lick the salsa off, and redip the chip. There's time for teaching manners about double dipping... haha. She also inhaled her entire plate of yellow rice and black beans (which is also one of my favorites!) and a good portion of her chicken quesadilla. We spent a good hour eating dinner, and it was just so pleasant. We sat in the open air front porch area, and ate our dinner together while randomly dancing to the overhead music and just "chatting" with each other and giggling. I truly love spending time with my daughter even though she's only 15 months old. She's a great little date! We really just love being together and enjoying each other's company. She's just so much fun, so observant, and charms everyone everywhere we go with her little grins and waves. We hit the jackpot with Lily as far as little girls go! :)
