2012: Year in Review
January: My sweet Aunt Elaine came to stay for nearly two weeks to help with Lily as I returned to work after my maternity leave, and adjusted to juggling the part-time job with full time motherhood pretty quickly thanks to her help!
February: Got to spend time with my sister and best friend who came to visit and hang out, which was a lot of fun.
March: A week before she turns 4 months old, Lily starts rolling over proficiently and on her own. I threw a bridal shower for my sister-in-law to be in Charlotte. Ethan was promoted to sergeant with his law enforcement agency which leads to a change in his off days and area assignment.
April: Matt and Carolyn get married! Lily makes a brief 10 second appearance at the wedding reception. Lily meets Aunt Cathy!
May: Phillip and Irene came to visit and met Lily for the first time! Found out my best friend was pregnant on Mother's Day weekend!!! We surprised my mom by driving up spontaneously, and Erica surprised me in turn with her announcement. I sobbed like a baby from happiness for her. Lily turned 6 months old.
June: Lily met Grandpa Hajek for the first time! Instant buddies. So grateful for the time we spent with him this month.
July: We spent time at Lakeside and had more time with Grandpa Hajek, attended the memorial service for my Grandma Hajek, celebrated Lily's first 4th of July, and had two wonderful beach vacations in Destin, FL AND Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
August: We celebrated our 7th anniversary and had a family photoshoot with an old high school classmate of Ethan's.
September: Mom and Dad came to visit for Labor Day weekend, and we spent some time in Charlotte too. Erica came to visit as well (her last visit here before Baby B!) I started working for a national nanny agency running the Atlanta office with a good friend.
October: LOTS of happy and sad changes this month...I became a full time stay at home mom to be able to have the freedom to come and go as I wanted between Charlotte and Atlanta, my grandfather was diagnosed with aggressive melanoma and given a few months to live, I threw my best friend's baby shower, Ethan surprised me with a Toyota Highlander for my 32nd birthday, and we lost my beloved Grandpa Hajek to a battle with cancer on October 24th. Dad took all of us ladies to Myrtle Beach for a weekend to regroup after reeling from the loss, which was just what we needed.
November: We celebrated Lily's first birthday and Thanksgiving with our family and close friends, and it was wonderful!
December: Lily took her first unassisted steps, and we spent a wonderful and quiet Christmas as a family of three.
Looking forward to seeing what crazy adventures 2013 holds for us!
